We present a study of the Spitzer Space Telescope mid-infrared properties of Chandra X-ray sources in the NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey (NDWFS) Boötes field, also known as the IRAC Shallow Survey and the XBOOTES field. The IRAC colors of Chandra sources lie in a very well-defined region of IRAC 3.6 - 4.5 μ m versus 5.8 - 8.0 μ m color-color space. The detection rate of X-ray AGN in the mid-infrared is presented for each of the four IRAC bands and the number density of targets is discussed. Comparison of IRAC and X-ray properties of this population allows us to study the effectiveness of mid-IR imaging data for identifying AGN, and probes the differences among AGN populations selected at different wavelengths.
Based on observations from the Spitzer Space Telescope (operated by JPL/Caltech, NASA Contract 1407) with support provided through NASA Contract 960541 from JPL/Caltech.
