The exceptional overabundance of gallium in the magnetic silicon star HD 25823 was studied using the strongest UV Ga II and Ga III lines in IUE spectra. Atomic data were collected to perform an LTE synthetic calculation of the spectral ranges 1406 to 1422, 1487 to 1503, and 1525 to 1542 A. Comparison with the IUE high resolution spectra of the normal star HD 17081 (Pi Ceti) and those of the Ap star HD 25823, confirms previous evaluation of the Ga overabundance (Ga/H= 3000 times solar value) and the Si abundance of 10 times solar value. The Ga anomaly, which is common in Hg-Mn stars but exceptional in Ap-Si stars, is a challenge to the diffusion theory in Ap stars.
