Optical spectra for five steep-spectrum radio sources from the RC catalog are presented. The spectra were obtained using the multipupil spectrograph of the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory. One of the objects was also observed using a spectrograph at Nasmyth's focus. Redshifts were derived for all the objects. Multicolor photometry was conducted for a typical representative of the sample (an optically faint host galaxy associated with an FRII radio galaxy), and used to estimate the photometric redshift of this galaxy and the age of its stellar population. The average photometric redshift for three models (Z = 2.64) coincides with the spectroscopic redshift (Z = 2.73) to within the errors. The age of this object is about one billion years, indicating that the host galaxy was formed at a redshift of 7-20, depending on the model for the Universe that is adopted.
