Electromagnetic Waves, Plasma Turbulence, Zeeman And Stark Effects

Scientific paper

Development of methods for the measurement of electric fields (EFs) in plasmas is of great practical importance. Firstly, these EFs may represent electromagnetic waves penetrating into a plasma. Secondly, these are EFs of natural plasma oscillations (e.g., the EFs of plasma turbulence). Thirdly, such EFs may be EFs existing in discharges. Many of spectroscopic methods for diagnostics of EFs in a plasma are considered, e.g., in [1,2]. This paper reviews some new spectroscopic methods for the measurement of the parameters of EFs in a plasma.
