Testing of the Spacelab unmanned pallet version and subsystems and of the unmanned supply service module IGLU with check of junctions between the orbit and Spacelab system and of the interaction between carrier and payload are described. Spacelab uses as development and test laboratory for processes and materials; as operational platform for remote Earth observation, meteorology, communication, and navigation; and as test and measurement platform for space investigations (atmosphere, astrophysics, and solar physics) are outlined. A pallet; the German mission D1; and EURECA as an economical exploitation program for long unmanned space missions are presented.
