The spacecraft rendezvous on the basis of the free trajectory method is considered as a problem of optimal control using an algorithm with a predicting model. Simple analytic formulae for the control are derived. The range of initial values for which the algorithm is capable of working is determined. The method of determining the dependence of the functional on the initial conditions including generalized working parameters is described.
