Scientific paper

The low-latitude magnetopause and dayside LLBL are an interface mediating solar wind input into the magnetosphere. Since February 2007, this region is monitored by the Themis spacecraft, thus we can regularly observe quasiperiodic oscillation of the plasma parameters and oscillation of the magnetopause boundaries. In the presented contribution, we analyze such observations of the oscillations of the plasma parameters inside and in the vicinity the LLBL registered by the Themis spacecraft and compare them with observations plasma parameters near the bow shock and especially in the foreshock region. The analysis is supported by solar wind monitoring. The motivation behind this study is to confirm possible sources of oscillations. Considered candidates range from foreshock fluctuations through pulsed reconnection at the magnetopause to resonances of the magnetospheric cavity.
