Regular observations of faculae in the darkened solar limb (excluding the poles) are discussed. The phenomena observed include 514 classical-positioned limb faculae, 27 reseau condensations, 180 central faculae, and 13 equatorial faculae. The morphology and temporal evolution of selected limb-type faculae are described, and the history of observations of solar faculae is reviewed. The cell size of a photospheric facula is estimated to be 20,000 by 24,000 km. A possible relation between the age and depth of a facula and its morphological type is noted.
