An exact formal solution of the n-approximation radiative transfer
equations is obtained for Compton scattering in a spherically symmetric
atmosphere. The simple case of a single chromospheric layer where the
density is inversely proportional to the radius is analyzed, and
solutions for 20 approximations equations are obtained with a computer.
