The propagation of electromagnetic waves in weakly nonlinear, relativistic electron-positron plasmas is investigated. It is shown that the calculation by Chian and Kennel (1983) is not fully consistent, and that there is a solitonic solution both for circularly and linearly polarized waves in the general case of nonconstant streaming velocity. The present solution is used for a discussion of pulsar microstructures.
