The ISO observations of Solar System objects have given an unexpectedly large amount of first-class results, spanning most aspects of the physics of Solar System objects. These results include (i) the first coherent determination of the D/H ratio in the Giant Planets (ii) the detection of many new atmospheric compounds, particularly oxygen species and new hydrocarbons, in the outer planet atmospheres (iii) new information on the nature of cometary activity, dominated by H2O, CO and CO2 (iv) a new view of the composition of cometary dust, characterized by the ubiquitous presence of crystalline silicates (v) new results on the temperature and composition of the zodiacal light, and (vi) new results on the surface composition, temperature, and thermophysical properties of (quasi)airless bodies (Mars, Pluto, Io, asteroids).
