The relationship between the interplanetary shocks and solar flares was studied by the "marked stream" method. There is shown that the direction of the magnetic field within the front region of high-velocity streams in the solar wind approximately coincides with that in the flare region at the Sun. This suggests that the high-velocity streams and associated with them interplanetary shocks really originate in the flare regions, and the magnetic field carried by them is in essence the extension of the magnetic field of corresponding active regions on the Sun. This once more confirms the supposition on the high-velocity streams to be driven by some processes developing in active regions on the Sun during solar flares.
