Ionospheric absorption of 4.0-MHz radio signals has been examined in relation to Zurich sunspot number, 10.7-cm solar radio flux, solar X-ray energy flux, and neutron flux. It is seen that among the various solar fluxes, the absorption is more closely correlated with 10.7-cm radio flux. The effect of X-ray flux on day-to-day variation, especially on disturbed days, is quite remarkable. This effect is most prominent in the winter months. Variation of the response of absorption to solar indices with frequency is also noted.
