Venera-8 observations of solar cosmic rays in interplanetary space
revealed seven periods of significant increase in solar proton flux
density during March-July 1972. It is shown that four of these increases
were due to extra limb flares in highly active regions. The variations
of intensity of galactic cosmic rays were also recorded.
