Using a novel resummation procedure of thermal loops, real-time correlations
in the scalar and pseudo-scalar channels are studied in the O(4) linear sigma
model at finite temperature. A threshold enhancement of the spectral function
in the scalar channel is shown to be a noticeable precritical phenomenon of the
chiral phase transition.
