The Palomar Transient Factory (ATEL #1964; http://www.astro.caltech.edu/ptf/) independently detected SN2010kp (CBET#2577, Nakano et al.) as PTF10abpr on UT 2010 November 30.326 at R=17.8. The location of the transient, RA(J2000) = 04:03:38.7 and DEC(J2000) = +70:45:16.0 is offset by 11.6"W, 3.6"N from the galaxy ZOAG G137.54+13.56 identified by a visual search of the supergalactic plane (Hau et al.
