The SK-67/111 (05f) of the large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and the peculiar emission line star R 50 of the small cloud were observed by IUE and by telescope. From the Si IV resonance doublet a mass loss rate of 0.000005 M/yr was obtained for SK-67/111, in agreement with calculations based on the H alpha emission intensity. No significant difference is found for this LMC star with the mass loss rate of corresponding galactic stars. Observations of R 50 show that it is a late B type star surrounded by a cool dense envelope. Its mass loss rate is on the order of 0.00005 M/yr.
