OH/H 2 O production from solar wind protons implanted to lunar regolith can be effectively simulated in laboratory with deuterium ions. At deuterium ion irradiation of olivine and SiO 2 powders measured mass spectra clearly show OD/D 2 O signatures. Proton-in-oxide production of OH/H 2 O being ubiquitous may be crucially important for life formation in Universe.
