In this paper the similarities of multiple fracturing on a neutron star
and on the Earth are explored, including power-law energy distributions,
clustering, and the symptoms of transition to a major rupture. These
similarities may reflect a scenario of a critical transition, common for
a broader class of nonlinear systems.
