The geometry and the magnetic field of the magnetotail neutral sheet at -4 R(sub E) is less than X is less than -21 R(sub E) are studied with International Sun Earth Explorer 2 (ISSE-2) magnetometer data. Neutral sheet crossings are determined using a local coordinate system. We show the position of the neutral sheet after the effect of tilt angle is removed, and construct a smooth model to fit it.
