A series of high-resolution, high signal-to-noise ratio observations of
Hα, helium and magnesium line profiles for three Be stars, α
Eri, P Car and ɛ Cap, are presented. Methods used in the data
processing and the characteristics of the short term variability of the
helium and magnesium lines in the three stars are described.
