Forward-backward correlations in the center of mass system have been studied in nucleon-nucleon interactions at cosmic ray energies (sq rt S = 96 GeV). The study indicates the presence of short-range as well as long-range correlations. The study also indicates the production of heavy clusters, predicted by Adamovich et al. (1976) in their multiperipheral model, in cosmic ray interactions.
