Atmospheric Cherenkov Imaging Telescopes can be used to search for GeV γ-ray bursts with a very high sensitivity in the mostly unexplored time scale from 100ns to 10µs. In this paper we review the motivations for this search and present the techniques being developed for the SGARFACE experiment which will be implemented on the Whipple telescope.
