Shock waves in a dusty plasma are considered. The dusty plasma is presented as an open, highly dissipative system where there is a tendency to self--organization. An anomalous dissipation originating from the dust particle charging processes results in a possiblity of existence of a new kind of shock waves. The shock waves related to this dissipation can be important for description of star formation, shocks in supernova explosions, particle acceleration in shocks, formation of dusty crystals, etc. The exact solutions in the form of shock waves are found for time scales corresponding to ion--acoustic wave propagation. The way how one can develop the hydrodynamics for description of stationary shock waves in a space dusty plasma which contains electrons, ions, neutrals, and dust grains is presented. The equations relating the parameters before and behind the shock front are found. The generalized Hugoniot relations for the shock waves in the space dusty plasmas are obtained. It is shown that the width of the shock front is determined by the mean free path of electrons and ions in collisions with the dust. The possibility of the experimental study of the shock waves related to the dust charging process in active space experiments which involve the release of some gaseous substance in the Earth's magnetosphere is discussed.
