Unlike the solar-like stars where the separation of pulsation frequencies in distinct patterns guide the interpretation, the more evolved stars like e.g. δ Scuti stars pose different problems with seemingly random excitation of a very limited number of modes. Ground based spectroscopy should provide the necessary stellar parameters before launch and subsequently provide time-resolved equivalent width measurements for mode identification.
