The parameters of the tracks produced in lunar samples by iron group nuclei from solar and galactic sources were found to be very different from the parameter data of tracks obtained with Fe-56 ions in laboratory simulation experiments. It appears as though the latent damage trails in lunar samples have been 'seasoned' in the lunar environment. A description is given of a study of the relative roles of temperature and time in the process of 'seasoning'.
