The seasonal and vertical variations of tidal parameters are obtained on the basis of a theoretical analysis of solar and lunar tides, taking into account the gravitational and thermal origin and vertical profiles of the mean zonal wind. The tidal motions for each month of a year are compared with continuous observations of wind velocities by zenith distance determination which were obtained by the radar meteor method for a long period of measurements. The comparison shows a good agreement between theoretical and experimental results.
