Mariner 9 temperature and pressure measurements near the surface of Mars for different seasons and different latitudes and longitudes were analyzed with the aid of Chamberlain's (1961) model and Pitts' (1968) program, yielding variations of pressure with altitude, longitude and latitude, and season. The curves log P(h) have slope changes between 5-40 km, 60-70 km, 80-110 km, 120-130 km, and 140-150 km. The altitudes of the 5-40 km and 85-110 km layers display seasonal variations; the 60-70 km layer appears sporadically; the thickness of the 120-130 km and 140-150 km layers vary with Martian season.
