Scientific paper

An underground search specifically optimized to detect super-heavy
monopoles is proposed. Theoretical arguments pointing to the existence
of magnetic monopoles are reviewed along with past attempts at
detection. Requirements for a scintillation telescope are defined. The
effects of monopole interactions with other particles are discussed.
