Intracluster globular clusters (IGCs) are expected to be present in galaxy clusters, and in great numbers. However, searches for IGCs have yielded mixed results to date. We will present preliminary results of a search for IGCs in the Virgo Cluster using the MegaCam camera on the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. Our deep (g 24) survey covers three square degrees of the Virgo cluster core. We identify IGC candidates based on their u-g, g-z colors; spectroscopically confirmed M87 globular clusters are being used as a guide.
This research is supported by NSF grant AST-0908377.
