We propose to search for short period double main sequence binaries in the core of NGC 6752. This will be done through a variability search of 396 WF/PC2 frames taken over a 20 hour period when the cluster is in the Continuous Viewing Zone. Our study should allow us to obtain observational constraints on such critical issues in globular cluster dynamics as the contribution of main sequence binaries to the overall energy budget of the cluster, the efficacy of the tidal capture mechanism of binary formation, the evolution of blue stragglers, and cluster mass segregation. The exceptionally deep color magnitude diagram obtained from the summed frames will be used to explore a variety of secondary goals regarding radial gradients of stellar populations.
