Scientific paper

Experimental and theoretical investigations of nonlinear optical processes are reported in summarized versions of five papers presented at the joint scientific session of November 23-24, 1983. Topics examined include nonlinear optical phenomena in fiber light pipes, the competition of nonlinear psec-pulse energy-transformation processes in optical fibers, nonlinear waves in fiber-optic information systems, the phononless line as an analog of the Moessbauer line in the laser spectroscopy of molecules and crystals, and current problems in surface spectroscopy.
