An optical synthetic aperture telescope being presently designed for the Xinglong (China) station of the Beijing Astronomical Observatory, to be used by the international as well as national communities is described. The main body of the synthetic aperture telescope is the 4.3-m optical IR telescope, which will be positioned between the 2.16-m, 1.26-m, and 0.9-m telescopes at the Xinglong station. Through the fiber combination of the 4.3-m telescope and some of these optical telescopes, the Xinglong station will enhance its concentrating light power up to that of a 5.1-m telescope.
