The results of the field-aligned current observations on the Intercosmos-Bulgaria-1300 satellite have been statistically analyzed taking into account the final dimensions of the observed current structures. It has been indicated that the application of the traditional technique for restoring current sheet characteristics, based on measurement of the magnetic field component tangential to the current sheet, results in the underestimation of the current value in the sheet. The dependences of the observation probability of the current sheet with fixed thickness and the current density in the sheet on the sheet thickness have been determined.
