New data on the satellite spectra of Ti XXI, which have been observed from Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR) plasmas with a high-resolution Bragg crystal spectrometer, are presented. These data allow the comparison between theory and experiment to be extended to the wavelength range from 2.6165 to 2.6400 A. The plasma parameters and the experimental apparatus are described, and a detailed comparison between the observed satellite spectra and theoretical predictions is made. Experimental and theoretical wavelengths are compared, and remaining discrepancies between observed and predicted intensities of the heliumlike lines of Ti XXI are discussed. Rate coefficients of the heliumlike lines and theoretical results on wavelengths, line factors, and transition probabilities for the berylliumlike satellites are given. Diagnostic applications and experimental results from TFTR tokamak plasmas are described.
