R-matrix calculations of electron impact excitation rates in S VI have been used to obtain the theoretical temperature sensitive emission lines ratios I(712.8-A)/I(944.5-A) and I(712.8-A)/I(933.4-A). It is found that the 944.5-A transition may be blended with lines from species with relatively low ionization potentials. It is suggested that the 712.8-A transition may be similarly blended.
