The degree of linear polarization of the thermal radiation depends on
the surface roughness. A simple facet-surface model is used to describe
the rough surface and to evaluate the far-field Stokes parameters are
evaluated. The dependence of the polarized emission on the roughness
parameter, fractal dimension, and material type is investigated.
