Auroral emissions were measured by rocket-borne spectrometers and photometers in the wavelength range from 50 to 640 nm, during the Energy Budget Campaign. The total energy flux of the electromagnetic radiation in that range is 0.61 mW/sqm for a diffuse aurora, and 0.67 mW/sqm for a stable arc at altitudes of 170 km and 190 km, respectively. Selected emissions show distinct differences in their spatial distribution for the auroral events observed according to different energy distributions of the incoming electron flux.
