The results from auroral measurements with spectrometers and photometers are reported for three successful rocket flights with the spectra (50-640 nm) and height profiles presented. The ratios of 391.4/557.7 nm show characteristic differences for diffuse, pulsating and stable arc conditions met. The total energy content in the electromagnetic radiation measured is 0.61 mW/sq m for the diffuse aurora (1980) and 0.67 mW/sq for the stable arc (1981). The spatial distribution of selected emissions exhibit distinct differences for the the auroral events observed.
