The filament in question was born on March 19, 1989 in the east part of the solar disc and rose at the west limb to a height of 0.45 Rsun. Before the rise a gradual extension of the filament was noted. That indicates that it was rising slowly at a velocity of several kilometers per second. A rapid rotation of the filament with the angular velocity 1°3 per day about the pivot point situated near the east end was found. The filament disappeared near a coronal hole, i.e. an open magnetic configuration, the fact noted by the authors earlier with respect to other filaments.
