We have identified a sample of narrow-line AGNs within extensive UV- selected galaxy surveys at z=2-3. These narrow-line objects are special systems in which the growth of the black hole (BH) and stellar population can be studied simultaneously, providing insights into the co- evolution of BHs and galaxies during the epoch when both star-formation density and BH accretion were at their peak. To add to our existing rest-frame UV spectroscopy, multi-wavelength photometry, and HST imaging, we now propose for GNIRS near-IR spectra covering the [OII], H(beta), [OIII], H(alpha), [NII], [SII], and [OI] emission lines. These emission-line measurements are required to classify our targets in the same manner as extensive local samples of narrow-line AGNs, and to estimate their level of accretion activity and BH masses. Here we request 3 nights of GNIRS observations to obtain these fundamental rest- frame optical measurements for 10 of our narrow-line AGN targets at z~2.0-2.6.
