Woosley gave a semi-empirical formula of average heat cross section of neutron capture of heavy nucleus in 1986. The authors fit the empirical coefficients of the formula again and apply the new results to unstable nucleus, according to the recently published neutron capture cross section data of stable and unstable nucleus with longer half-life, and considering shell correction and magic number effect. The authors find that the result of nuclide of the region beyond the magic number is greatly improved by the simple semi-empirical method.
