The renormalized covariant Wigner function of the magnetized vacuum is calculated in the Hartree approximation. It allows, in a very simple way, the calculation of the radiative corrections to the energy-momentum tensor of the magnetized vacuum. Thence is shown that the vacuum magnetization is linked to the anisotropy of the system in the same way as it is for matter.
