Solar Protons: Solar Radio Bursts, Solar Protons: Solar X-Ray Flares

Scientific paper

Using the observed data from January 1988 to June 1991 taken from S.G.D. for statistical analysis, the authors have obtained some close correlations between the physical parameters of solar proton events and solar radio bursts or soft X-ray (SXR) flares. The correlation coefficients are larger than 0.72, so that one can estimate the peak flux of proton event via some appropriate parameters of a certain radio burst or SXR flare. Furthermore, the authors have also investigated the relation of solar proton events in association with microwave bursts, meter wave bursts and SXR flares and achieved some interesting statistical results.
