The relationship between ring-current decay time and pulsation activity in the recovery phase of geomagnetic storms is investigated on the basis of data for 40 isolated storms, with decay parameters being determined according to Dst variations in recovery phases. A complex dependence of decay time on the intensity and type of pulsations is observed, and a qualitative assessment is made of the possible mechanisms (including the scattering of ring-current protons by MHD waves) leading to the observed pattern.
