The relation between fluxes of high-energy charged particles in the radiation belt and seismic activity is investigated on the basis of data from a Meteor-3 satellite experiment carried out during 1985-1986. Results indicate that inner-belt particles are sensitive to seismic activity. It is concluded that the observed relationship may be used to predict the onset of earthquakes.
