The statistical analyses of the productive rate of the flares with ≥1(B or N or F) solar flares and the occupancy rate of sunspot active region with ≥1(B or N or F) solar flares in different range of areas of sunspot groups each day during the peak year of solar cycle 22 (1989.1 - 1990.12) are carried out. The results show that there is a certain relation between solar flares and the areas of sunspot groups, and that the bigger the areas of sunspot groups are, the higher the productive rate of the flares and the occupancy rate of sunspot active region are.
