Results are presented on a detailed statistical analysis of F10.7 emission and its relation to such manifestations of optical activity as evidenced by plages and sunspots. Results show that all individual peaks of F10.7 emission found in the selected east-west (EW) scans could be attributed to individual active regions (ARs). The correlation of the height of the F10.7 peaks with the individual spot area was 0.93. The correlation with the plage area was 0.84, and the combination of plage and spot areas gave a 0.96 correlation. No significant center-to-limb variation of the F10.7 emission from ARs was found, indicating that the source of the F10.7 emission can be modeled as an optically thin spherical emitting region.
