The detectors available for 5-1000 microns are discussed with particular
consideration of performance improvement in recent years. Two
potentially useful detectors for the 50-1000 micron region are
considered in detail: photoconductors with very shallow donor and
acceptor sites; and photon drag detectors as power measuring devices.
