A statistical detector proposed earlier is tested for its applicability for real-time processing. Because of the high sensitivity, additional identification or pre-processing is necessary to detect triggers by small data disturbances. In the case of an undisturbed registration the algorithm is suitable for detection of seismic signals in real time. Near seismic events with their greater spectral differences from microseism have a better detectability than small teleseismic signals. For the latter, appropriate high-pass filtering is necessary.
